Description

I will present our measurements of faint photometric satellite luminosity and stellar mass functions in galaxy groups/clusters through a cross-correlation technique. The measurement can reach -7 in r-band absolute magnitude or 10^5.5 msun in the latest DESI data, which has a low-mass end slope consistent with CDM predictions. We will also show that MW satellite LF function is typical in the Local Volume, but statistically rare compared with other MW-mass systems in the more distant Universe, indicating our LV is an under-dense "local void".
