This workshop

The goal of this workshop is to plant the seed for the development of innovative ways to study clusters of galaxies. For this purpose, we are bringing together experts in different aspects of galaxy clusters, with a particular emphasis of mass diagnostic tools, such as gravitational lensing and galaxy dynamics. The format of this meeting is loosely based on that of Lorentz Center workshops. There will be talks, but these will only cover half of the schedule. Most of the time will be spent in discussion. We will work our way towards our goal by addressing a series of questions, as follows.

1- What science questions could be answered with precise and accurate mass measurements in galaxy clusters?
2- What are the current strengths and limitations of each mass diagnostic probe, taken individually?
3- How can we combine different probes in a consistent and effective way?
4- What action items will need to be carried out by the galaxy clusters community in the near future, in order to enable a successful joint use of multiple diagnostic tools?

Each day's discussion will build upon that of previous days. For this reason, we strongly encourage everyone to attend the workshop for its entire duration.

We also hope that new collaborations will develop as a result of this workshop.
